Friday, 1st October, is Family Fast Day.
For this day, our children came into school dressed in their home clothes and brought in a donation for CAFOD.
They found out that their donation would help those worst affected by the climate crisis and support people around the world who are dedicating their lives to protecting God’s creation.
Pope Francis says we are a single family living in a common home. This is a crisis that will affect each and every one of us. A crisis that is damaging our world. Our common home. God’s creation.

Eyes of the World
We were so lucky to be invited to host the ‘Eyes of the World’ campaign for CAFOD. With hundreds of schoolchildren from Cornwall, Devon and Dorset we drew our eyes to create a massive 'Eyes of the World' art installation, to send a message to Boris Johnson and the G7 world leaders that we want to see action on the climate crisis.
Sophia said: "My message to G7 leaders is that the eyes of the world are watching them, so are all the young people, to make sure they make the right decisions."
Freddie added: "My message to the world leaders is that they shouldn't just talk about climate change, they actually need to do something about it!"
We will continue to support CAFOD in the run-up to COP26, the UN climate conference being hosted by the UK in Glasgow this November.
Our school community will join thousands of others throughout the nation supporting some of the poorest communities in the world.
We will be joining the Water Droplet Trail in support of CAFOD’s Walk for Water appeal. CAFOD is an international development charity and the official aid agency of the Catholic Church in England and Wales.
To get involved at home, display a water droplet in a window and look out for others on your daily walk.

Look at our amazing coin trail designs to raise money for our school!
The children enjoyed creating their designs for this Easter event.
Well done to Class 5 who won the trail for the best design. Mrs McDonald and Father Brian had a very tricky job judging, as all the designs were incredible as you can see.

Class 4- 3rd place
Father Brian said; 'They were all excellent but these really captured the true message of Easter. His congratulations and thanks to all the classes who took part.'
The children also loved the Easter Egg Hunt.
