June 15th - June 20th
This week is Refugee Week.
We will be thinking about ways that we can welcome others.
Refugee Week takes place every year across the world in the week around World Refugee Day on the 20 June. In the UK, Refugee Week is a nationwide programme of arts, cultural and educational events that celebrate the contribution of refugees to the UK, and encourages a better understanding between communities.
Jesus asks us to work towards the Kingdom of God and the Kingdom of God is welcoming to everyone.
Let us remember to be excepting to others whenever and wherever we meet them.
Pray in your heart for refugees throughout the world.
Say the Our Father and remember those special words this special prayer.
We’re joining schools across England and Wales for CAFOD Schools Fratelli Tutti national assembly on 10th June. We’ll be finding out about Pope Francis’ letter and exploring how we can be global neighbours https://cafod.org.uk/News/Events/National-assemblies
Earth Day (22 April 2021) aims to raise awareness about the environmental challenges that our planet is facing and to inspire people to do something about them. On this day, children will celebrate God’s wonderful creation, learn a little about some of the main environmental concerns and consider how they can play a positive role in protecting our planet.
This is the 51st year of Earth Day and the theme this year is ‘Restore Our Earth’. This is a prayer we can make as Christians – that God will restore our earth to the way He intended it to be.
