At St. Mary's we place the children at the heart of everything we do

Autumn Term

During the Autumn Term Class 4 looked at the Tudors. The children went to the Maritime Museum and found out about what the explorers were looking for and life aboard the ships during this period.
Also during our Tudor topic the children studied the lives of the rich and poor. They then made their own Tudor houses and street.
Our second topic was The Victorians. As a class we visited Lanhydrock House. The children got the chance to see what life would have been like for both the rich family upstairs, and the poor servants downstairs!
Another part of our Victorian topic was looking at Lighthouses. The children made their own working lighthouses, which also linked to our Science topic 'Electricity.'
